A barn wedding venue 15 minutes from High Point

Aerial view of the white barn, two silos, patio, and ceremony lawn set with white benches and a wooden arch

Close enough to be easy, far enough to feel away

The Farm on Groometown sits at 5047 Groometown Road, on the Greensboro side of the county line but barely. From downtown High Point it is about 8.6 miles — roughly fifteen minutes, most of it on Kivett Drive. Plenty of couples are surprised it is that close, because once you turn in you are looking at forty acres, a pond, pasture fence and longhorn cattle.

High Point has handsome places to marry downtown: the historic inn, the ballrooms, the clubs. What it does not have is a white barn with a glass-enclosed reception room on open land. If that is the day you have been picturing, it is a fifteen minute drive, not an hour.

Worth knowing: High Point Market runs about five days every April and October, and hotel rooms across High Point fill up and get expensive during those weeks. If your date lands near Market, reserve your room block early or send guests to the Greensboro side.

Not only weddings

The other things High Point calls us about

A good deal of what comes our way from the High Point direction is not a wedding at all.

University weekends

High Point University is fifteen minutes away, and families ask about graduation dinners, parents' weekend gatherings and celebrations that outgrow a restaurant table.

Market weeks

High Point Market fills the city every April and October. We are a quarter of an hour from the showrooms with room for 130, free parking and a barn that looks nothing like a conference room — an easy answer for a buyer dinner or a team evening.

Milestone celebrations

Birthdays, anniversaries and family gatherings that want more room than a house and more character than a banquet hall. See private celebrations.

Company gatherings

Team celebrations and client events, with kitchen access for your caterer, Wi‑Fi and a venue representative on site. See corporate events.

Planning a High Point wedding

Good to know

How far is the Farm from High Point?

About 8.6 miles, or roughly 15 minutes, from downtown High Point. The quickest way is East Martin Luther King Jr Drive to Kivett Drive, then across to Groometown Road.

Can our guests get an Uber or Lyft out here?

Yes. Uber and Lyft both serve the farm, so anyone who would rather not drive home can get a ride back to High Point or anywhere in the Triad. Parking on site is free if they do drive.

We want an April or October date. Does High Point Market affect us?

It can. Market runs about five days every April and October, and hotel rooms across High Point fill up and get expensive those weeks. If your date is close to it, book your room block early or point guests toward the Greensboro side, which is nearer the farm anyway.

Can we book the Farm for something other than a wedding?

Yes. A lot of what we hear from the High Point direction is university weekends, Market-week dinners for companies in town for the showrooms, milestone birthdays and family gatherings. Capacity, timings and what is included are the same as a wedding. Call Jenna and she will quote your date.

How many guests does the barn hold?

Up to 130 guests, including the glass-enclosed reception space. Tables, chairs and cocktail tables are included. See everything that comes with the rental.

What does a wedding here cost?

Friday through Sunday weddings start at $5,200, and Monday through Thursday start at $3,500. A 50% deposit with a signed contract reserves the date. Full pricing and requirements.

From a couple on Google

“Our guests complimented the layout of the barn so many times throughout the night! Would do it here all over again if we had too!”

Tours by appointment

Come see it in person

It is a fifteen minute drive and the farm is quiet when you visit — tours are by appointment, so you have the place to yourselves. Tell Jenna a little about your day and she will set one up. A tour request does not reserve a date.
