What a barn wedding costs in Greensboro, NC

The short answer

At The Farm on Groometown in Greensboro, the venue rental starts at $5,200 for a Friday, Saturday or Sunday and $3,500 for Monday through Thursday. That fee is only part of your wedding budget. You’ll also hire a licensed caterer, an insured bartender and a planner or day-of coordinator, and rent linens and place settings.

The venue fee is the number most couples see first, but food is usually the biggest cost. Below is what our fee covers, what you add on top, and a worksheet to build your own total.

What the venue fee covers at the Farm

Every rental includes the spaces, the furniture and the basics, so you aren’t renting tables and chairs from scratch.

The spaces

Furniture and facilities

Prefer a different look? You’re welcome to rent your own tables, chairs or benches from an outside rental company instead of using ours.

What it doesn’t cover

Linens, napkins and place settings aren’t included. Your caterer or a rental company brings them, and Jenna can point you to the ones our couples use. The on-site guest house is a separate rental, too; booking the venue doesn’t reserve it.

Your rental runs from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and setup and cleanup happen inside that time. See the full list on our pricing and FAQ page.

The vendors you’ll add, and why we require them

The Farm isn’t an all-inclusive venue. You choose your own vendors, and three of them are required so the day runs safely and smoothly. Their prices are set by the vendors, not by us, so get quotes early.

A licensed caterer. The barn’s kitchen is available to your caterer. They need to be named and have a contract on file with us at least 10 days before the event. Catering is usually the largest line in a wedding budget, so price it per guest.

An insured, licensed bartender. All alcohol, including beer and wine, is served by a licensed bartender, with no self-serve. Bar service ends 45 minutes before the event ends.

A planner or day-of coordinator. Every event needs one from our preferred vendor list. They run the timeline and are your point of contact with the venue; venue support isn’t a day-of coordination service. You’ll get the list once your contract is signed and your deposit is in.

Rentals. Linens, napkins and place settings come from your caterer or a rental company. If you’d like extra covered space, you can bring in a tent from a local rental company at your own cost; it isn’t needed for rain, because the whole wedding moves inside the barn.

Weekday vs. weekend: what a Monday to Thursday date saves

Choosing a Monday through Thursday date saves $1,700 on the starting price: $3,500 instead of $5,200.

50% deposit to reserve the date$2,600$1,750

How booking and payment work

A 50% deposit and a signed contract reserve your date. The balance is due at least 30 days before your wedding. The deposit isn’t refundable, but if you cancel, we waive the rest of the contract, so you won’t owe the remaining balance.

We take cash, check, debit, credit card and Venmo. Card and Venmo payments carry a 3% processing fee. Beyond that, there are no added fees unless your contract says otherwise.

How Greensboro venue prices compare

Across the Greensboro area, the median published starting price for a wedding venue is $3,000, according to Lazo (updated November 2, 2026). That figure comes from only 9 venues that publish a price, out of 163 listed in Greensboro, Winston-Salem and High Point. What a starting price includes varies a lot, so compare what each venue covers, not just the number.

Tours by appointment

Come see it in person

The best way to picture your budget is to walk the barn and see what’s already set out for you. Tours are by appointment, Sunday through Thursday, because we usually have a wedding on Fridays and Saturdays. A tour request doesn’t reserve a date.
